My Top 10 Romantic Movies

Standard

Here are My Top Ten Romantic Movies: In NO particular order.

Love Actually

I actually though I wasn’t going to like this much but was surprised how well the story flows and well tied it is. The movie follows the lives of eight different couples in dealing with their love lives in: from a widowed stepfather dealing with his son’s first love to a bride that finds out how her new husbands best friends was in love with her all along, to the Prime Minister falling for a sweet girl at his office.

Strictly Ballroom

The totally adorable Scott Hasting (played by Paul Mercurio) is a professional ballroom dancer. He is however unhappy and wants more out of his career by dancing his own steps. At the same time “ugly duckling” Fran is a beginners dancer. She demands to be his partner. He scoffs at the idea but little does he know that she comes from a fiery family of Spanish influence, with double paso burning in their hearts. Together they try to win the Pan Pacific Championship and of course grow closer together as they overcome those that want to get in their way.

A Walk to Remember
Ok. So this is one of my guilt movies. It’s not amazing but the story is sweet. A plain jane helps a stud of the school run lines for a play making him promise not to fall in love with her. So suave and sure of himself he thinks she’s joking but as they work closer he finds himself falling. Her heartbreaking secret will redefine how they each view the world.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

If I loved this movie before it was nothing to how much I fell in love with it all over again when my husband took me to an old time movie theater that had it playing. A writer moves in above a cooky, quirky, socialite girl. They are both attracted but she can never be tied down or label herself. In the end they’ll both have to come to terms with who they are and take a chance on each other.

It Happened One Night
Black and White, Oldie but Goodie. The actress might have not wanted to the movie, their budget might have been in the crapper but its still an outstanding movie. A spoiled heiress, running away from her family, is helped by a man who’s actually a reporter looking for a story. They find true chemistry but when she finds out who he is how can she trust any of it was real?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Going through my own rough time I wished I could delete anything and everything, In turn just like in the movie there was always hope in the end and things can get better. Main character finds out his ex-girlfriend got a procedure done that erased him out of her memory. He decided to so the same but in the end finds out he doesn’t want to forget her and fights trapped in his mind against the procedure.

You’ve Got Mail

Cheesy cute movie because Meg Ryan is cute and cheesy. Rival in business these two fall in love over the internet. When they set up to meet he realizes who she is. Knowing she will hate his guts he tries to get her to like him before letting her know who he really is.

Wall-E

Come on! It’s too cute, AND it is a love story. Lil guy gave it all up just to follow Eve.

10  Thing I hate about You

A modern version of Taming of the shrew, have to say I loved it in high school for Heith Ledgers lopsided grin. Its a fun and easy movie to watch.

Casablanca

Rick Blaine, who owns a nightclub in Casablanca, discovers his old flame Ilsa is in town with her husband, Victor Laszlo. Laszlo is a Resistance leader, and with Germans on his tail, Ilsa knows Rick can help them get out of the country, still hurt over her leaving him in Paris will he help her?
